Cimier

"SWISS WATCHMAKING FOR EVERYONE, SINCE 1924"

Founded in 1924 in Hölstein in the Basel Jura, Cimier is an independent Swiss watch manufacturer whose founder Joseph Lapanouse established a clear philosophy from the very beginning: offering affordable watches so that everyone could find their own timepiece.

In the 1950s, the manufacture industrialised the first pin-pallet chronograph, which went on to sell over 21 million pieces throughout its lifetime. By the late 1960s, annual production had reached 1.5 million pieces, with over 500 employees. After navigating the quartz crisis, the brand reinvented itself with a bold new vision. In 2010, Cimier opened the doors of the exclusive world of watchmaking to the public by creating the Watch Academy — the first Swiss manufacturer to offer anyone the chance to build their very own watch in a single day. Today, Montres Cimier is a well-established, profitable and independent watchmaker, perpetuating the art and tradition of Swiss horology with timepieces that are designed, developed and manufactured by experts, guaranteed Swiss Made, and celebrated for their refined aesthetic and exceptional craftsmanship.
